British Summer Nationals was a big one for our UK F-Teamers with a massive 12 Funkita athletes competing at the event.  There were heaps of personal bests, records broken and too many medals to count!

Newly minted F-Teamer Laura Stephens made a splash in the 19 and over age group winning gold in the 400m IM and 200m Butterfly. She also scored three bronze medals in the 50m Butterfly, 100m Backstroke and 200m IM. Laura also went head to head with fellow F-Teamer Tain Bruce in the 100m Butterfly where they managed to score the top two spots, with Laura just in front.

Two of our other 19 and over swimmers, Georgia Coates and Charlotte Evans, also won them selves a couple of medals at the event. Georgia took home the gold in the 200m Freestyle and silver in the 200m Breaststroke, while Charlotte won the 200m Backstroke by an incredibly tight 0.01 secs. We also had Candice Hall i the finals for the 400 IM, 200m IM, and 200m Freestyle.

Another age group where F-Teamers were well represented was the 17/18 year olds, with five Funkita swimmers making it onto the podium. The top performer in this age group was Elizabeth Harris who won gold in the 100m, 200m, and 400m Freestyle events, even breaking the 2 minute barrier with a time of 1:59.00 in the 200m freestyle. We were completely blown away by Amy Bell's dominance in the 400m IM, winner gold by a massive 5 seconds. She also won silver in the 200m IM and the 200m Breaststroke.

Also in the 17/18 age group was Lily Bosely, who won gold in the 100m Backstroke, and distance swimmer Leah Crisp, who earnt herself two silvers in the 400m and 800m Freestyle and a bronze in the 1500m Freestyle. Daisy Anderson also made finals and scored herself a bronze in the 400m IM wiping a massive 3 seconds off her personal best in the 200m Backstroke.

Pia Murray also did well earning 3 medals in the 16 year old age group. She took home silver in the 200m Backstroke and 100m Butterfly and bronze in the 100m backstroke.

Last but not least are our young guns, Sophie Freeman and Maisie Elliot. In her new APEX Blast Matrix race suit Sophie managed to win a huge 5 medals, including gold in the 50m Freestyle as well as the 50m and 200m Butterfly. We are particularly impressed with her 50m Butterfly time of 27.39 as it would have won gold in the age group above! She also swam both the 1500m and 100m Freestyle on the same day (crazy me know) and managed to pick up bronze in both. Maisie also got plenty of bling with a gold medal in the 100m Butterfly as well as silvers in 50m and 200m Butterfly.

What an awesome effort from all of these F-Teamers! We hope they enjoy a well-earned training break.
